Where a stove connects through the chimney wall, the liner ends in a tee. Its branch passes through the wall opening to meet the stove's connector, and its bottom carries a removable cap.

The cap on a relined flue

When the crown is sound except for small cracks, a crown sealer before the plate goes on may be enough. When it is broken up or missing its overhang, repair or recasting comes first. Either way the crown work is its own line on the estimate, so the liner price stays the liner price.
