Relaying the top courses before a new crown

Before your crown is coated or recast

Can a crown be repaired in the rain?

No. Coatings and fresh concrete both need dry conditions for a set time after they go on. Crown work is scheduled for dry weather, and rain protection is on hand in case a shower arrives early.

Can a drip edge be added to my existing crown?

Not in a way that lasts. A drip edge has to be formed into the underside of an overhang, and a crown without an overhang has nowhere to put one. The fix is a new crown formed wider than the chimney.
